About us
JKMAC
Established in 1934, the Jammu & Kashmir Mountaineering and Adventure Club promotes adventure in the Kashmir Himalayas.
Originally named Cashmir Climbing Club, it later became Jammu & Kashmir Mountaineering and Hiking Club. Affiliated with the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, the club trains youth in trekking, mountaineering, and skiing. Despite a period of dormancy, it revived under Mr. Mahmood Ahmad Shah's leadership, introducing programs like the "Day Trekking Programme." The club actively engages in mountain cleaning campaigns and celebrates the United Nations International Mountain Day.
